Augusta Auto Body Supports Our Veterans

Last month we observed an important holiday to those at Augusta Auto Body: Memorial Day. This day we honor those who have lost their lives in service to our country. Our shop strives to remember, uphold, and support veterans from our past and those in the now.

Remembering Those Who Have Served

It is important to be thankful for the freedoms we have in the United States, hard fought for by our veterans. Many have died to protect us and help our country progress. Remembering them is honoring them! Start at home by taking intentional moments of gratitude regularly with your children and family members. Visit a war memorial and read the names. Read their war stories and talk to your children about true sacrifice. Fly an American flag on Memorial Day and on every day of the year.

Supporting Those Who Serve

Sadly, a large percentage of veterans in our midst suffer from PTSD, depression, and other mental illness. This is the result of war and not something to be ashamed of. Show support to veterans in your life by acknowledging their stories. Listen to them and be their friend. Walk up to a stranger you see with a veteran’s license plate and say “Thank you for your service.” Encourage them to care for themselves and maybe even seek help to work through trauma from their past. Tell loved ones who have served that you are proud of them!

How We Can Help

Besides lending emotional support as mentioned earlier, we can put our money where our mouths are. If you are a business, consider offering a military and veteran discount. Augusta Auto Body is proud to do so for all our American veterans! You can also donate to the numerous organizations set up to provide aid, housing, and health services to our veterans. If you have more time than money, consider volunteering! In central Minnesota volunteers can make a direct impact at the VA Health Care System in Saint Cloud.

Augusta Auto Body wants to extend a sincere thank you to our veterans and their families for their sacrifice and truly appreciate all who serve in our military!
